Is Bush Administration Planning Military Enforcement of Socialism?

Contrairimairi has forwarded the following link to Daily Newscaster.com. Back in the late nineteenth century Americans feared a labor revolt. As a result, "armories" were built around New York State as fortresses to base the national guard. Earlier, in the days of Alexander Hamilton, all Americans agreed that the US government has to honor its foreign debts. To consider any alternative would have been a moral disgrace.

George W. Bush is probably the worst president in history. There's always a present orientation fallacy that makes us forget old-time presidential buffoons, but his nationalization of banking, huge injection of money, incursions on civil liberties, bail out, inept management of FEMA and now this story (if true) have to put Bush near or at the bottom. The question for me as a business school professor is how a graduate of our nation's leading business school can be a socialist, an economic and historical illiterate, an inept opportunist and a moral idiot.

The Daily Newscaster article article reads as follows:

>"Wayne Madsen a Washington based investigative journalist, author, columnist and former U.S. Naval Officer reported on April 3rd, 2008 the existence of a document called the 'C & R' document is being passed around among senior members of Congress and their staff.

>"Bush planning martial law

>"FEMA sources have told Madsen today that the Bush administration is putting final touches on a plan that would initiate martial law in the event of continuing economic collapse causing massive social unrest, bank closures resulting in violence against financial institutions and another fraudulent presidential election that would result in rioting in major cities and campuses around the country.

>"Troops on American streets

>"In addition to FEMA sources, Army Corps of Engineer sources report that the assignment of the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade to NorthCom to augment FEMA and federal law enforcement for the purpose of traffic control, crowd control, curfews, enhanced border and port security, and neighborhood patrols in the event a national emergency being declared.

>"The other possibility discussed in the document is that the federal government will be forced to drastically raise taxes in order to pay off debts to foreign countries to the point that the American people will react with a popular revolution against the government."

I don't know if any of this is true or not. Read the whole thing here. I would add that John Locke would have sanctioned a popular revolution one hundred years ago, with the advent of "Progressivism", which has violated every natural right conceivable. But the American people, like a national Rip van Winkle, have been asleep for one century. A revolution against the current political and economic system would be perfectly justified and moral, and I have thought of this idea more than once. However, even if there is such a revolution, if it were to reinstate the traditional American commitment to natural rights and justice, and discard the barbaric, oppressive Progressivism of the past century, the United Sates would necessarily honor any and all debts. To do otherwise would just be another form of socialism
