Jeremy E. Sarber and Friends (h/t Contrairimairi) has posted an essay by Jerry Molen, who notes:
"Most people aren’t even aware that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years. It wasn’t until 1994 when the so called Gingrich Revolution changed that for a short period of time. Nor do people realize that it was the Dem’s that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this."
Jerry notes a paradox:
"Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years….and they are still poor."
No kidding. The fact is, almost everyone is poorer because of the Progressive(Republican)/social democrat (Democratic) alliance.
Jerry has a few predictions about what Barack Hussein Obama would do as president:
1. Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.
2. The phrase “In God We Trust” will be removed from all currency.
3. He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.
4. Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.
5. Tax rates will return to their highest levels in 30 years.
6. The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.
7. Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.
8. The borders will be ‘basically open’ to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America.
9. Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S.
10. The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating.

I would be surprised if this was actually written by Gerald Molen as there is no way to verify as much, and people forward things like this all the time, most of which are not what they represent themselves to be.
Even if it was written by him, what does it say? It never ceases to amaze me that we live in an age where information is more available to us than at any time in our history and yet we do so little investigating. Those who oppose Obama and many who support McCain seem to be disturbingly willing to just take things at face value, even things that are completely, verifiably false.
Here's the parade of horribles trotted out in the email, not one of which is backed up in any way.
1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.
OK . . . based on what? First of all, did he promise he would not enact stricter gun laws? If so, what makes the writer think that he would enact them anyway?
This isn't even an argument--it's just an unsupported assertion, and it's a waste of time.
Like I said there are plenty of sources from which one can get actual information about where the candidates stand on the issues.

This is so ridiculous that it is impossible to respond to. There is absolutely NOTHING to support this assertion. Nothing.

Again, has he made a pledge to Israel? If so, what evidence is there that he would leave Israel "to the wolves of Islam?" Well, I've looked around, and there isn't any evidence.
See, this is the state of our politics now. You can just make stuff up and get away with it. The Bush Administration made stuff up for years, and the American people swallowed it whole. Look where that got us.

4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.
Obama has said nothing about this. A bunch of other people have made the suggestion, but there is absolutely nothing to support the idea that Obama would do this.

I don't know that anyone knows who Obama would pick (my money is on Republican Senator Chuck Hagel), but Wesley Clark wouldn't be a bad choice. We don't know why the write thinks this would be such a bad idea because he doesn't tell us.
8). The borders will be 'basically open' to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America.
I don't really understand this argument. The borders are currently "open" in the sense that there is a procedure for immigration.

This claim is almost as ridiculous and unsupported as the "In God We trust" claim. As far as their stances on immigration, see above.

Obama has been right on Iraq from the beginning, and McCain has been wrong. Obama continues to be right, so right, in fact, that the Bush Administration as well as the Iraqi government has adopted his proposal for a timeline, General Petraeus has validated it, and McCain has even tacitly acknowledged that it is a good idea.

Again, I'm not sure whether Gerald Molen actually wrote this essay, but if he did, he should be embarrassed. The author starts off by saying he has been "wondering where the heads of our citizens are hiding out. Must be someplace where the sun doesn't get to very often." It's ironic how squarely he fits within that same class of citizens.
Any one of the websites listed above provides better information than 1000 emails supposedly from semi-famous people.
This election is important, but it is even more important that we reenthrone reason as the arbiter for our decisions, that we stop tolerating those who simply make things up out of thin air to try and sway us, and, most importantly, that we say "enough" to the fearmongers and refuse to make decisions based on fear.
