Black Republicans Just Say "No" To Socialism

I just received the following from Frances Rice of the National Black Republican Association:

In a moment that will live in infamy, President Barack Hussein Obama fostered upon America a gigantic Socialist Stimulus Bill that will plunge America deeply into the failed Euro-socialist psychosis.

Obama conjured up images of the Great Depression to intimidate the US Congress into voting for his $787 billion pork-laden stimulus bill that was crafted in the dead of night by liberal Democrats and read by no member of Congress before they voted the next day. Now, economists are revealing that Obama's Depression analogy is historically false and fearmongering at its worse. History shows that FDR's New Deal blocked recovery and plunged our nation into a deeper recession. What really got us out of the Great Depression was World War Two.

When Democrats voted for that bloated stimulus bill to reward their special interests and fund every kooky item on their socialist agenda, they sold out America for a bag full of our tax dollars -- their 30 pieces of silver. No Republican in the US House of Representatives voted for that bill. In the US Senate, only three moderate Republicans voted with the Democrats to saddle our future generations with a massive budget deficit.

Obama's cruelest slap was on the face of black Americans. Buried in the bowels of that big government spending bill is a poison pill that kills welfare reform. Welfare money will no longer be used for job training, child care or transportation. Instead, the money will now, once again, be just a government handout that keeps black children trapped in generational poverty. Uncle Sam has replaced the father in the homes of poor blacks because you cannot get a welfare check if there is a man in the house. Democrats have been running black communities for the past 40 years. The socialist polices of the Democrats have created a culture of dependency on government handouts and turned black communities into economic and social wastelands. Socialism is a moral and economic cancer that destroys families, communities and nations.

Hidden deeply in the stimulus package is funding for social engineering programs that can become the seeds for Obama to become our first American dictator. An Obama supporter put up a sign that says: "One Nation Under Obama". That sign is a chilling look into the world of Obama where America is no longer "One Nation Under God".

For the 233 years of our nation's existence, our rights came from God, not man. The Declaration of Independence signed on July 4, 1776 declares: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

In the year 2009, we find ourselves faced with a serious question. Will we, the people of the United States of America, consent to having Obama as our god and leave it to him to dictate what rights we will have?

With the fawning media refusing to hold Obama accountable, Congress in control of Democrats and Obama poised to appoint extreme left-wingers to the US Supreme Court, there will be no check on Obama's power – except we, the people.

While telling us to be "civil", Obama uses fear and intimidation to silence his critics and seize unprecedented power over our lives and every aspect of our entire economy – our banks, automotive industry, airlines, food, drugs, education system, public health, energy production, science, and media broadcasts. Obama wants to plant our nation's feet so firmly in the concrete of dead-end socialism that America will never recover and never again be the land of the free.

Will we fight for our freedom, using the non-violent means of Republican Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., or will we cower like cowards out of fear of being called "racist" or "divisive" and allow our country to be turned into a failed socialist nation?

Will we follow the courageous example of civil rights heroine Rosa Parks who refused to sit on the back of the segregated bus, or will we sit like sheep with our heads bowed on the back of Obama's socialist bus?

We, as American citizens, have three powerful tools we can use o fight against Obama's socialism – our money, our time and our vote.

Money Talks. We can cancel our subscriptions to liberal newspapers and magazines. We can make our lives a "TARP FREE ZONE" by refusing to put our money in banks or buy products from manufacturers that take TARP Two money. We can donate to Republican candidates and Republican organizations. Be creative in deciding how to use your money to fight for the soul of America.

Time Chalks. We can participate in "No To Socialism" protest rallies in our cities and our nation's capitol. We can write letters of protest to President Obama and our members of Congress. We can chalk up time as volunteers with our local Republican Party organizations.

Voters Walk. We can refuse to vote for any Democrat running for Congress in 2010 because doing so keeps liberal Democrats in control of Congress. In 2012, we can refuse to vote for a Democrat to be our president.

Wake up America. Fight for what is right. Just say NO to Socialism!

Wait...what is that really?

"This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the U.S. Department of Energy.

I then took a shower in the clean water provided by a municipal water utility.

After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC-regulated channels to see what the National Weather Service of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration determined the weather was going to be like, using satellites designed, built, and launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

I watched this while eating my breakfast of U.S. Department of Agriculture-inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

At the appropriate time, as regulated by the U.S. Congress and kept accurate by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the U.S. Naval Observatory, I get into my National Highway Traffic Safety Administration-approved automobile and set out to work on the roads build by the local, state, and federal Departments of Transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the Environmental Protection Agency, using legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank.

On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the U.S. Postal Service and drop the kids off at the public school.

After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the workplace regulations imposed by the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health administration, enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the USDA, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to my house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and Fire Marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all its valuables thanks to the local police department.

And then I log on to the internet -- which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration -- and post on Freerepublic.com and Fox News forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can't do anything right." - -

The New York City subway system illustrates government intervention. Before it was socialized in the 1930s the trains ran on time, it was clean and cheap. It is still cheap. But rats scurry on the tracks; it is filthy; the trains skip stations; the service is dismal. Bums shit in their pants and stink up entire cars.

If you want rats in hospitals then hope for socialized medicine. Why can government run hospitals but not a subway system?

Sadly, you are correct as to the extent of socialist intervention in the US economy, but you are wrong that the US Department of Defense developed the Internet. It is true that the DoD invented the earliest version, but the basic framework on which it is based including routers, computers, telephony were invented in the private sector, routers at Stanford. As well, the DoD had no involvement in making the Internet accessible to the public. This was done by the advent of the personal computer, Netscape, telephone companies and Microsoft and by marketing.

Likewise, claiming that government is in any important way responsible for the quality of your automobile is false. The ONLY reason American cars have improved is COMPETITION from the Japanese, the very COMPETITION that socialism illegalizes.

Cars have improved because of two private sector initiatives: TQM of Edward I. Deming and lean manufacturing of Toyota's Taiichi Ohno. Saying that government inspection has anything to do with automobile quality is false.

The same is true of food quality. There is no need for cumbersome government inspection. Private firms can do this better. Food prices are much higher than necessary because of government intervention. Farmers are paid not to grow food, and the poor suffer.

As the US economy has become more socialistic, standards of living have stagnated or declined. The real hourly wage today is the same as in 1971. Prior to 1971 there were ongoing 2% annual real wage increases. Over 40 years of socialism, your wages are just 40% of what they would have been without socialism. Likewise, in 40 years the standards of health care, because of the replacement of innovation by government bureaucracy, will be 40% of what they would have been without socialization.

Socialism is fine for academics and government employees, who live off the public and avoid hard work, but hard jobs deserve good pay. The public has been screwed by socialism and its no-growth, subsidize Wall Street wage policy.

I find it intriguing that you consider weather forecasting and the postal service to be major triumphs of government. Weather forecasting is hardly accurate and the postal service survives only because competition is illegal. In fact, these do not work. If government involvement in weather forecasting were abolished tomorrow, within a year accuracy would significantly improve.

As far as the FCC regulating television, the FCC has been a force for suppression of free speech and monopolization of the air waves by big business. It has contributed significantly to the dismal quality of network television. The cable channels, which are less regulated, have superior content because they are less regulated.

As far as the USDA inspection system goes, perhaps you haven't heard about the centralization of the food supply discussed in this movie: ttp://www.foodincmovie.com/.

Although private sector methods like scientific management have been effective in reducing food costs (in areas like fast food) government has induced many bizarre outcomes. Vegetables are more expensive than meat in many cases. Farmers who wish to grow organically in old fashioned way cannot because of government regulation. The government, USDA, forces them to shut down, as the above movie describes. If you want to eat non-scientifically designed foods, you cannot because government has served as the enforcement wing of the big growers.

The reason the post office has such dismal service is the absence of competition.

Democrats and socialists glorify the freezing of the real hourly wage at 1971 levels because they work in academia or in jobs that have been on the receiving end of government redistribution such as Wall Street. People who work hard have increasingly suffered due to government. After nine decades of socialism and the institutions you describe (the Post Office of course is older) Americans are suffering from economic decline for the first time in their history.

Many middle class people are forced to work two or even three jobs just to cover their mortgages. The schools are dismal and illustrate the massive failure of government. The post office is dismal. Weather forecasting is inaccurate. The roads and highways are terribly maintained. Public transportation like the subways are dismally run. There is nothing that government does not touch that is not turned into sh*t.

Of course, if someone wants to start their own post office they will be arrested and sent to jail. So we will never know whether a decent postal service is possible. The current one is sh*t, and in order to avoid testing it, government has illegalized competition.

The reason the quality of life has decline so rapidly since 1971 is incompetent, mismanaged government.

When I graduated from college in 1975 it was possible to get a good job in a major company in New York. Today, if you don't work for the government or for Wall street or other government subsidized service, the only jobs left in New York are the $10 per hour variety.

The squashing of innovation by incompetent government planners like Robert Moses, who drove six percent of New Yorkers from their homes and destroyed a large percentage of the entrepreneurial business in New York City are the reason for New York's failing socialist economy. Government is the root of poverty in New York.

In contrast to your ideologically driven fantasy about the advantages of government weather forecasting and the post office, as government intervention has increased, Americans lives have gotten worse.
