Various races?? Certainly you jest... There are only three recognized races on planet earth. Caucasaian, Mongoloid, and Negroid. I have always gotten a big kick out of the reaction when telling a a fellow hispanic person (hispanic is not a race, by the way, no matter how many tatoos a person gets that declare "viva la raza"....) I always get a kick giving them the bad news... all of your racist rhetoric, even if spoken in Spanish, is still spoken in a white language. Spain is in Europe, and white people are dominant there... Caucasian people that is.

Actually, I did not give a moment's thought to the parts of the definition not related to Obama. I simply plagiarized them from a dictionary definition as a foil for the Obama part. As far as "Hispanic" being a race, I have no idea as that is an anthropological question. I seem to recall somewhere that there are five races, but I really don't know. Are American Indians a different race from Mongoloid? I really don't know. I think there is undoubtedly a connection between Asians and Native Americans as is confirmed through linguistic and genetic evidence, so perhaps the number of races is smaller than I initially thought. Also, groups like the Australian Aborigines might well constitute a different race as I don't think that they are Asiatic per se, although I have no clue. I'm sure there's an enormous anthropological literature on that sort of question. I think what you're saying is that whites who speak Spanish are of the same race as whites who speak English, which is obviously true.

One more point about "la raza". The worst racists in America were not the English, who were largely indifferent to the Indians and mostly had as little to do with them as possible (I think there may have been occasional failed attempts at enslavement) but rather the Spanish. The Spanish treatment of the indigenous Indians was disgraceful. I read a history of Chile, and the mistreatment of the indigenous population by the Spanish was cruel beyond words.

It is hilarious that anyone would claim that the Spanish language is a language of liberation of indigenous South America or Puerto Rico. Spanish is the language used when cutting off recalcitrant Indian slaves' feet because they tried to run away.

Only ignorant fools would claim that Spanish is a liberation language of Latin America. Hugo Chavez, Che Guevarra and the like. Morons.
