When It Mattered, Sarah Palin Supported Big Government

September 24, 2008

Last week: "While people on Main Street look for jobs, people on Wall Street — they’re collecting billions and billions in your bailout bonuses." EconomyCollapse.blogspot.com notes:

"Further, in traveling to Texas to stump for incumbent Governor Rick Perry after speaking under the Tea Party Nation banner, Palin is slighting the one real tea party candidate running in Texas-- a rising Debra Medina who is insistent on shaking up the status quo and triumphing over party stooges Perry & Hutchinson."

Has Sarah Palin undergone a major intellectual transformation since fall 2008? Has she read Ludwig von Mises's Theory of Money and Credit? Or is she just yanking the Tea Party's chain.

I find Alex Jones's emphasis on conspiracy theories to be far fetched, and he is too harsh about Palin. But he is right that unless the Tea Party can find a candidate who opposes the bailout for intelligible reasons, it is an abject failure.

I believe Sara Palin may very well have undergone a major transformation. In the fall of 2008 John MCCAIN had just plucked her from the Governors job in Alaska to be his Vice Presidential running mate. This subordinate position and her lack of deep knowledge of national affairs is the Sara Palin we saw in the fall of 2008. Lets see what she thinks and does now when she is speaking for her self. I suggest you watch her recent interview with Chris Wallace on Fox. I think you will get a better idea how she thinks now.

I hope you're right, Chris. I'd rather see viable GOP candidates than people like McCain. But how do we explain Pailin's support for Rick Perry over Debra Medina in Texas?

As well, has she made a comprehensive statement about the bailout? I would think a reversal on a key issue of that magnitude would require a comprehensive analysis.

If I remember right, didn't Palin support the "outsider" in the 22nd Congressional District in NY against the GOP - I'm hoping she is doing the choosing based on the right candidate - and not the party.
