Meshugina Kopf--Jewish Vote To Obama

Gateway Pundit (h/t Larwyn) blogs that 77% of the Jewish vote went to Obama. In contrast, the majority of the white vote went to McCain. American Jews have a history of following "progressive" fashion even where it means danger or death to their fellow Jews. In the 1930s and 40s the Jewish-owned New York Times did report on the Holocaust, but it buried the story and America's "progressive" Jews did little to demand to Roosevelt that the train lines to the death camps be bombed. In 2008, few Jews have asked whether Obama's links to Price Prince Al-Waleed or to various radical causes might in turn raise questions about his attitudes toward Israel or how he would respond to an attack on Israel. This is a tragedy. I hope the circumstances that I fear will not occur.

As I wrote on my blog, I think the Jewish people may soon discover what Joe Biden meant by his remarks on an Obama Administration's response to an international crisis as not seeming to be the correct choice, but that we should still be united. Perhaps an Iranian invasion? Obama's response to Israel's pleas for help will be, let all parties sit down and talk about this?

According to exit poll data, Jews listed their reason as fear Sarah Palin, a person with an Israeli flag in her office since day one, was worse than Obama.

Of course, Obama's lie that there will be preconditions before speaking to Iran is not reflected on his new official Presidential website:

From President-Elect Obama's Government website:

"Diplomacy: Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama and Biden will offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization, economic investments, and a move toward normal diplomatic relations. If Iran continues its troubling behavior, we will step up our economic pressure and political isolation. Seeking this kind of comprehensive settlement with Iran is our best way to make progress."

It is also irritating that the media refused to use Obama's middle name before elections, with the exception of the Fox News Channel, but then on the day of his election and since, they have been using it. Desensitizing us to the name perhaps?

Not sure about the numbers. Augean Stables has a different breakdown:

Orthodox: McCain 78%, Obama 13%
Conservative: McCain 26%, Obama 59%
Reform: McCain 27%, Obama 62%.

No numbers for Jews identifying as "secular" or "unaffiliated." So in a way the Jewish vote is a mystery. Augean Stables doesn't have the number of respondents for each group but since even the Reform Jews only come in at 62%, it's hard to see the case for 77 overall.

In the last poll I saw before the vote, Jews were only 50% Obama, a paltry 30% for McCain and therefore an enormous undecided.

Mind you, the numbers, if 77, might be explainable by "minority-empathy."
