Dear Senator McSally:
I've sent you a $100 contribution to thank you for standing up to CNN reporter Manu Raju. The American media has deteriorated to the point at which treating them with contempt or ignoring them are the best options for those who are not antagonistic toward the United States, freedom of speech, and freedom of enterprise.
The American media does not serve an informational purpose but rather is a state-supported publicity industry for the Democratic Party and the Deep State, including both RINOs and Democrats. To restore the possibility of progress and of freedom, there needs to be a rethinking as to the monopoly privileges the state has bestowed on the tech industry, on the air-wave networks, and on the cable networks.
The New Deal marked the beginning of Deep State subsidization of the media through litmus tests concerning support of treaty-globalization, state-subsidized finance, and big government in exchange for monopoly privileges. Those subsidies need to end, and the media needs to be rebalanced.
Sincerely,
Mitchell Langbert

Left Wing Hate Speech Against Mitchell Langbert's Blog III: My Courses Fill at a Faster Rate Than in Prior Years
Within the past two months, a small-but-vocal group of radical students have engaged in hate speech. Supported by a small-but-vocal group of left-wing alumni and the fake-news media, they have called for my sacking from my teaching job at Brooklyn College. The calls for my sacking received a moral salute from the college president and provost, who sent around emails (carefully omitting mention of my name) condemning my eminently valid claim that the Kavanaugh investigation was baloney.
A petition to fire me for disagreeing with and offending the Democratic Party bosses--who decide on the college budget--was posted on the Action Network. To date, more than a month after the news stories subsided, 447 students and professors have signed the petition.
The total enrollment at Brooklyn College is 17,803, and the total number of full-time and part-time faculty is 1,480, so about (447/18,250) or 2.5% of the active Brooklyn College community have signed, a proportion statistically not all that much greater than zero. If you add the alumni, of whom there are at least 300,000, the proportion is minuscule. If you add the entire population of left-wing extremists in New York (the petition was not limited to those associated with CUNY), the proportion is smaller still.

Yesterday, a student in one of my classes sent me this email:
It's [name omitted], hope all is well.
What are my chances of getting into one of your online wait[-]listed classes for Spring 2019? [O]r do they generally stay full?
I would be willing to try online considering I'm familiar with who you are.
Let me know.
Thank you,
Usually, my classes reach wait-list status around Christmas, so the publicity has been of little concern to the majority of students who take my classes. In fact, my classes have filled earlier rather than later than usual. Perhaps the vast majority of students at Brooklyn College simply do not care about the left-wing president's and provost's emails, the small-but-vocal group of left-wing demonstrators, or the left-wing, fake-news publicity. Perhaps more students agree with me than disagree with me.
Neither the fringe students and professors who demonstrated against me nor the media, administrators, and professors who supported them were interested in putting the sacking demands into perspective. This contrasts with earlier free-speech controversies at Brooklyn College in which left-wing speech was called into question. Then, the administration and media emphasized freedom of speech and the First Amendment. These included a controversy about a speaker from BDS and a controversy about students who entered a faculty council meeting and made anti-Semitic remarks.
The students who wrote pieces about me in the student newspapers likely represent the the more articulate among the demonstrators. The chief rationale that they present in their opinion pieces calling for my sacking is that they disagree with me and do not believe that people with whom they disagree should be allowed to teach at Brooklyn College. Their logic does not extend much further.
For example, Assibi Ali complains that "Langbert had the outlandish idea to pen a satirical piece
that proudly and openly supports Brett Kavanaugh, whose hearing he claimed to
be a 'travesty.'" Ali contends, "What
students would feel comfortable reaching out to a rape apologist? A man who
empathizes with Kavanaugh because of the “defamation that he has suffered at
the hands of the media…”
In other words, according to Ali, the 38% of Americans who supported Kavanaugh's appointment (according to left-biased Time Magazine) should not be permitted to teach at Brooklyn College. As well, Ali didn't bother to check how many students I have taught (likely in the area of 5,000) and how many have complained about not being able to reach out (none). Perhaps Ali's prejudices have been learned at the college because, according to my own data, conservatives have been consistently excluded from teaching posts by the same left-McCarthyite faculties who have trained Ali.
Another student, Kevin Limiti, claims that my blog is a threat to safety. In contrast, Limiti is unconcerned by the violent threats I received from his classmates or the five campus police officers whom the administration saw fit to post outside my classroom. I add that while the administration saw fit to complain that my blog post was outside the supposed "community standards" of Brooklyn College (thus claiming to arbitrate the speech standards of a publicly funded university), the same administration saw no need to complain about left-wing students' threats of violence.
Like Ali, Limiti is unaware of how university personnel decision making ought to work, how university decision making works in reality, what the First Amendment says, and how the Supreme Court interprets the First Amendment. At a phone meeting of the National Association of Scholars yesterday, several professors noted that the far left has frequently eliminated or subverted K-12 civics teaching so that students are unaware of how basic American institutions work. Ali and Limiti are the result.
CUNY's bylaws state the following:
The City University of New York (“CUNY” or “the University”) is committed to academic
freedom and the free exchange of ideas and expression of all points of view for members of the
University community, including individual students, faculty, and staff and recognized groups of
those constituencies. Such exchange is at the core of the mission of higher education. The ideas
of different members of the University community will often conflict, but it is not the proper
role of the University to attempt to shield individuals from ideas and opinions they find
unwelcome, disagreeable or even offensive. Although members of the University community
share in the responsibility for maintaining a climate of mutual respect, concerns about civility
can never be used as a justification for closing off discussion of ideas, however disagreeable or
offensive they may be to some members of the University community. The appropriate
response to false or offensive speech is not to prohibit it but to respond with more speech.
The bylaws give some caveats, which entirely depend on the speaker's presence at the college, which was not the case with a blog written off campus and with no purpose of addressing campus-linked issues. Limiti's claim that my blog perpetuates violence is characteristic of the kind of intolerance in which college students are increasingly indoctrinated.

Mickey Mouse Presents Better News than Jack Cafferty
I was in the gym the other day and someone had turned on CNN. Announcer Jack Cafferty droned about how terrible Michele Bachmann is, how the Republicans are in trouble, and how all candidates ought to be Progressives. It occurred to me that CNN is not a news channel. My wife replied that it is more informative than an entertainment show. She was wrong. CNN is less informative than Mickey Mouse. Listening to six stories about gay rights in a row when the nation is in the clutches of rent extracting special interests and a financial system that is sucking Americans dry financially is not news. The story about the woman who allegedly killed her baby and then got off is not news either. CNN distracts you. You get more news from books. The chatter of the hour is nonsense.

Morons Leading Morons: How the Democratic Party Media Lies to Its 1345 Viewers about the Tea Party
I just received this e-mail from Jim Crum about the fictitious reporting on CNN and MSNBC concerning the Tea Party.
>Hello.
Obviously anyone who disagrees with the official government/media elite narrative is a racist.
In fact, just recently Gallop did a survey of all of the remaining 1,345 viwers left for CNN and MSNBC, and nearly two thirds of their combined viewers- a full 892 people thought eveyone in the Tea Party was racist.
This is congruent to what Keith Olberman and Chris Matthews feel.
I gotta tell you folks that really hits me hard, a hammer blow to my self esteem.

More on CNN's Persistent Lying about The Tea Party
Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit continues to do an excellent job tracking the ongoing misinformation and lies at CNN (h/t Jim Crum and Bob Robbins). Jim notes of the above crowd: "Just in case you still trusted the state-run media… CNN on size of Saturday’s rally: 'At least dozens of people.' This is dozens?"Jim is right to call CNN "state run media". Although the Democratic Party probably does not officially review CNN's coverage, CNN is loath to question anything that Barack Obama does, much like the state run media in a communist or Nazi state.

An Examination of the Employment Patterns of CNN Announcers
I was just at the gym and CNN was on. I was wondering how America's news announcers get their jobs. I did some research on the Internet and this video comes closest to explaining how people like Jack Cafferty, Wolf Blitzer and Lou Dobbs found work. Note: Dobbs= Moe, Cafferty = Larry, Blitzer = Curly. Only they're not as smart as the three in the video.

CNN Subjects Black Republicans to Racist Innuendo
What is amazing about this video is the CNN announcer's harping on race as what he seems to think ought to be the chief consideration. These guys disagree.

Sub-Prime Crisis Results From Regulation, Congressional Black Caucus and Barack Obama
Saying that the sub-prime crisis is due to insufficient regulation is a demonstrable lie. Rather, it is demonstrably true that it is due to Democratic Party political influence and government intervention in the mortgage market (h/t Larwyn). In this video, taken in 2005, Daniel Mudd, Interim CEO of Fannie Mae, boasts to the Congressional Black Caucus that Fannie Mae has leant more money to minorities than any other institution in history. He calls the Congressional Black Caucus the "conscience of Fannie Mae".
The top three US Senators receiving contributions from Fannie Mae have included Senator Barack Obama (number two or three), even though he was a Senator for a brief four years.
The Democrats are more closely linked to Fannie Mae than are the Republicans. Franklin Raines, a Democrat who left Fannie Mae under a cloud, received a $50 million payout from Fannie Mae. The current sub-prime crisis is attributable to the Democrats and is a product of regulation, political influence on the mortgage market and government intervention. Given that the lie that the sub-prime crisis is due to too little regulation has been repeated on CNN, MSNBC and other Democratic Party propaganda sources, it is evident that the informational value of the American news media is nil. CNN is not news. It is propaganda.

Sarah Palin and the Media Clowns

Media bias in favor of America's first Indonesian presidential candidate, Barack Obama, has me laughing to tears. The bozos at MS-NBC (perhaps to commemorate Larry Harmon, the most famous Bozo, who sadly died last month) claim that the Republicans are "frantic". The Bozos at AP assert (ha, ha) that McCain is undermining his strategy of emphasizing experience. Juggler Chris Matthews (the very name makes me chuckle) asserts that Joe Biden is a brilliant choice while acrobats at AP (giggle) claim that a minor investigation of Palin that Mr. McCain knew about before the nod is going to become a serious issue (sic). Never mind Mr. Obama's repeated lying in his book and his association with a Weather Underground terrorist and felon Tony Rezko. I'm not up that early, but I heard CNN begins its broadcast day with "Ladies and gentlemen, and children of all ages..."
I have no doubt that Mr. McCain's strategic choice of Sarah Palin is excellent. She's more experienced than Barack Obama (she has actually served in an executive role) and he's strategically undercutting the Democrats on several levels.
The chief obstacle the Republicans have to overcome is the stupidity of the Bush administration--the big spending, lack of leadership, lack of vision and commitment to failed, social democratic ideas. With a great VP choice like Palin, the Democrats are likely to become increasingly confused.
Here is a fundraising letter I received from John McCain:
I am honored to announce that I have chosen Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as my choice for the Republican nominee for Vice President. As a father with three daughters, I can't express how proud I am to choose the first female Republican Vice-Presidential nominee.
Sarah Palin is a trailblazer and a reformer. As the first female governor of Alaska, she challenged a corrupt system and has been a tireless advocate for reform - passing a landmark bill on ethics reform. She has taken on the old politics in Alaska and reformed the state's energy industry. She rejects wasteful pork barrel spending. She's fearless - exactly the type of leader I want at my side and the type of leadership we will bring to Washington.
My friends, together Sarah Palin and I make the strongest presidential ticket and I know that she joins me in asking for your support as we head into our Convention week in Minnesota. We're shaking things up in this campaign - and Governor Palin and I are ready to bring real reform to Washington.
The polls indicate this will be a tight race as we head into the fall campaign against Senators Obama and Biden. I expect the polls to remain close all the way up to Election Day and that is why any help you can give today will go a long way to make history on November 4th.
You may already know that I have decided to accept federal matching funds for the final months of this campaign- keeping a campaign promise I made. But that means that August 31st marks the last day I can accept your primary contribution. Will you make an immediate donation of whatever you can give- whether it's $50 or $500 to ensure Governor Palin and I win in November?
You can be assured that as President and Vice President, Governor Palin and I will always put country before all else. We are ready to lead and I ask that you join our campaign today. Your support is deeply appreciated.
Sincerely,
Image Blocked
John McCain
P.S. I have chosen Governor Sarah Palin as my running mate and today we held a joint campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio. I hope you'll visit my website to financially support our ticket as we head into next week's Republican Convention. Thank you.

The American Media Crisis--The One Who Pays Is You
The media's monotonous support for the Obama campaign ratchets my curiosity about its declining standards. Yellow journalism and bias go back to the Federalist period of American history and before, and Jefferson was not above planting friendly journalists in positions in order to maximally irritate his opponents. But there are several differences between the factionalism of today's media and that of only a few decades ago. In the 1960s, there was still a significant degree of variability in the opinions of the major New York newspapers. Today, television and newspaper outlets conform to a social democratic norm and are increasingly shrill.
Conservatives believe that there is a liberal bias in the media and this is in part true. The corporate and financial interests that control the television and newspaper outlets are corporatist and social democratic because social democracy supports their financial interests. Thus, to understand the reason for the media's liberal bias, it is necessary to fathom the corporate interests that control the major media outlets and the economic conditions that favor their health.
Social democracy has always been a method by which corporate power deceives and controls a naive public. The history of the Progressives and the New Deal as ensuing from the exercise of a broadened interpretation of corporate power, that is for instance, as opposed to small business power, is well documented. The increased stridency of the mass media not only in support of Barack Obama but in its shrill uniformity (examples are MSNBC's Chris Matthews and CNN's Jack Cafferty and Lou Dobbs) suggest a crisis of confidence on the part of American elites. The crisis is economic and it is in its early stages.
The Bush administration has intensified the inflation of the past 25 years to a point that will necessitate a recession. But American financial and business institutions have been considerably weakened due to mismanagement and may not withstand a recession. The media's advertisers and corporate owners are in for a rough ride.
Wealth has been reallocated away from the economy's productive sectors such as manufacturing and agriculture, and the manufacturing firms as in the automobile industry that might be able to produce value are frequently not globally competitive. For them to become competitive the dollar needs to depreciate to the point where their exports become so. This will attract talent back to productive areas of the economy but will reduce the wealth base and force many Americans to reduce their living standards. As well, the reduction in the purchasing power of the dollar will be associated with an influx of dollars from abroad, causing additional price inflation here. This will cause instability. The reason for the price inflation is of course Federal Reserve policy that has subsidized the same firms that advertise through the mass media and include the mass media firms themselves.
In response to the depreciating dollar the Fed will need to raise interest rates. This will cause difficulties and perhaps bankruptcy of major American firms.
The mass media adopts an increasingly lock step tone in order to prepare for a series of economic crises whose causes it aims to distort. The beneficiaries of the long inflation of the past 25 years have been top managers, Wall Street and hedge funds. Oil speculation is not really an important component of this, and the media's recent tap dance about oil speculation is evidence of how it will continue to lie about the economic problems in the next decade. Barack Obama has received more donations from Wall Street and the financial community than has John McCain. He will avoid, with media support, addressing the underlying sources of the need for adjustment.
The one who pays is you.

Post CNN World
Doug Ross @ Journal proposes a new book entitled The Post CNN World. As I have recently blogged, people who believe television news are like the people in the late 1990s who believed that the X-Files was news.
