I do not doubt that the birth certificate issue may be the result of intentional manipulation by the Obama camp. When I first got involved with this I premised everything I said and wrote with the idea that the entire issue might be a ploy to get his opponents into a trap. However, there still may be something interesting underneath this, namely, the identity of his father who may be on the vault copy of the certificate. At this point a judge has reviewed the Hawaiian birth certificate so there is little support for the claim that he was born in Kenya.

As well, you need to remember that manipulation works both ways. Rumors like this can be fertile grounds for better findings. Getting a lot of people excited about this so late in the game can hardly be the outcome for which the Obama camp hoped.

Given the news media's eagerness to embrace the man, this much agitation, even if misguided, energizes people. Down the road there will be plenty of grounds for complaint about the Democrats, and if I'm wrong you can kick me twice.

The most important question facing the nation is monetary policy. It is one about which academics and the "mass media" (I prefer the phrase pissant propagandists) engage in systematic lying, fraud and deception, and have since day one. This includes academics who study the issue as well as newspapers and television. The television stations do not discuss it, or they lie outright about for instance, the role of monetary policy in wealth transfer and in inducing recessions. Even people like William Greider, who wrote a lengthy book about the subject, are utterly deceived by the endless lying about monetary policy. The public is utterly bamboozled about the subject, and policy is based on utter chicanery.

That said, what harm is there in a few rumors about Obama's birth certificate? Moreover, such rumors energize those most likely to protest. Even if the rumors are refuted (and they may not be entirely vis-a-vis the identity of Obama's father) I do not think Obama likes to have thousands of people buzzing about what a liar he is, even if the specifics are confused a bit.Mitchell Langberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722335216553899790noreply@blogger.com
