Is this the scenario ...I have blogged this before. Is this the scenario which our country's framers had in mind when they created the electoral college? I distinctly remember it being taught up in my 5th grade history class (of course I went to Catholic school, I doubt public schools would teach this as historical fact) that among the desire to give each State a more fair stake in electing a president, it was left OPEN to the electors to cast their ballot 'responsibly'. The Framers feared a populist or an individual with enough money to 'buy' an election, who is unqualified or does not have the country's best interest in mind becomming president.
